Clement Donelon is a graduate of Jesuit High School and the University of New Orleans. While at the University of New Orleans, Mr. Donelon served as president of the Student Government Association. Mr. Donelon received his law degree from Loyola University School of Law in January of 1976 and was admitted to practice law on April 23, 1976. From 1976 through 1979, Mr. Donelon served as in-house counsel handling labor relations and employment discrimination cases for the largest private employer in the state of Louisiana. From 1979 to 1984, Mr. Donelon served as a trial attorney with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. During that five-year period, Mr. Donelon successfully litigated numerous multi-party, complex employment discrimination cases in the federal district courts in both Louisiana and Arkansas.
Since 1984, Mr. Donelon has been actively engaged in the private practice of law. During that time period, he has successfully litigated numerous cases for both plaintiffs and defendants in the areas of personal injury, employment discrimination, products liability, medical malpractice, insurance coverage, and corporate law. In one of his employment discrimination defense cases, Mr. Donelon successfully reversed a $650,000 jury verdict against his clients and ultimately zeroed the plaintiff.
Mr. Donelon has served as lead counsel for 43 successful plaintiffs in DeCorte, et al. v. Eddie Jordan, and obtained a judgment in excess of 3.5 million dollars for his clients. After a four-week trial, the jury returned a verdict for Mr. Donelon’s clients. The total present value of the Court’s judgment was in excess of $3.5 million. Recently Mr. Donelon has also represented 32 successful plaintiffs in another high profile, complex civil rights case. In that case Mr. Donelon obtained a judgment in excess of 1.3 million dollars for his clients. Since 2001, Mr. Donelon has received attorney fees totaling approximately 1 million dollars.
